2012 year in review

2012 was a crazy year. Put together a bunch of videos and wrote a ton of songs. Looks like 2013 will be even more productive. Here is a mega-post of just about everything that I’ve worked on in 2012! Happy new year.

Video Songs

Pretty Horses
Found this old Yamaha PSS-480 keyboard from the 1980s on eBay. It has a setting called ‘Lullaby’, and I used it as the foundation for this lullaby. This song was recorded in the “video song” format— all sounds were recorded during the making of this video.

Deck the Halls
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope you enjoy my rendition of Deck the Halls. This is was done in the video song format—what you see is what you hear, all video in the studio was captured during the creation of the song. All xmas lights video was shot right up the street at a place called Candy Cane lane in Los Angeles.

Walk With the Dead
I felt like getting dancey. Here’s a new song called Walk With the Dead. Hope you like it. It’s in the “video song” format—what you see is what you hear, all video captured during the creation of the song. Also: don’t deny that you love my long underwear.

Believe [dig cover]
Here is my cover version of a track you may remember from the early 1990s from the band Dig. This one was in pretty heavy rotation on MTV’s old “buzz bin” back in the day. I recorded this in a “video song” format—what you see is what you hear, all video captured during the creation of the song (with the exception of the outdoor footage which was taken in my back yard).

IIc
I recently got an old Apple IIc and wanted to see what kind of music I could make with it. I’m using 8-bit Weapon’s DMS (digital music synthesizer) for all of the sounds you see coming out of the IIc. I recorded this in a “video song” format—what you see is what you hear, all video captured during the creation of the song.
